Walk With Winter

Here in the wake of gentle morning hush,
shimmering sun rises in its scarlet blush,
whispering namaste in the bitter breeze
amidst the crow and bluejay’s fervent pleas.

Here in the woods, you are never alone;
nature comes alive in its welcoming home.
Squirrels bury nuts under the towering oak,
white-tails bolt as distant shots provoke.

Here the forest yields its stark winter scene,
all barren branches save for tiny evergreens.
These solitary pine trees, if they grow at all,
shall grow ever strong, ever free, ever tall.

Here is where I long to sleep, in pale moonlight
beneath snowy blanket on long December nights.
Walk with winter, let broken hearts become whole,
with peace and serenity to ease your weary soul.

Quietude

Quietude

When storms lift the hood of this burial shroud
And rage flashes down by way of the clouds,
I take refuge in the quiet of winter twilight,
Nestling deep into the cold and restless night.

Right at this very moment, I only want silence --
No words, no music, no noise or dissonance,
Just the moving images the zoopraxiscope projects
Motions in my mind, where dark shadows reflect.

I see horses in green pastures run like wildfire,
With flames stoking desire, rising ever higher,
Fields of periwinkle blue stretching endlessly,
A clear path where the eagles soar to eternity.

Feel the winds of change blowing through my hair --
Spirits of the wild, hold me and take me there,
To the healing waters where hope rises and flows
And the sun ascends, triumphant in its golden glow.

The Heights of Indigo

The Heights of Indigo

I dream of love, the greatest gift
Of emotions that tantalize,
Blending us together in heart,
Infusing us with points of light.

Strolling in fields of honesty,
I dream of love, the greatest gift.
Golden beauty in morning sun,
I am mesmerized by your glow.

When honesty shines down on me
And humankind bestows its fate,
I dream of love, the greatest gift
Dawning bright in December skies.

Night gives in to hush of velvet,
We scale the heights of indigo.
As pure passion binds us as one,
I dream of love, the greatest gift.

Mother Moon

Mother Moon

Pale moon shining on fields below,
Nature’s langiappe in golden glow.
Soft winds blowing through pinewood trees,
Listening to my fervent pleas.

Mother moon, murmur to the night;
Hide deep within her starry light.
Hear me willow, and weep for me,
Listening to my fervent pleas.

No need for sun or morning dew,
All I ever needed was you.
Clouds break over turbulent seas,
Listening to my fervent pleas.

Pale moon shining on fields below,
Listening to my fervent pleas.
