Soul Dancer

Soul Dancer

When the temporal sun descends into lavender mountains,
the night wind revolves in the sky and sings
a haunting melody, its lyrics undecipherable,
and I am moving backwards
in slow motion...

A penny for your thoughts, a dollar for your dreams
shall I pay the price, seek out the highest bidder
to crawl inside the chambers of your mind
where silent music echoes down
halls of regret...

We meet in the damp shadows, in a rain of kisses,
my chest as tight as a shiny bicycle chain
cresting down full speed, over rolling hills,
hearts pumping like runaway pistons
as the race begins...

Your lips, your touch, your scent draws me nigh
and makes me melt like angel wings in spring,
savoring essence of night blooming jasmine
such a passion of weeping tied to my body,
the taste of nectar so sweet...

...and my soul dances, seared with curls of fire.

Secrets in the Breeze

Secrets in the Breeze

An angel’s vision came to me,
Moonlit reflections of the sea.
Washed ashore, fleeting memories,
Whispering secrets in the breeze.

A voice of wisdom spoke aloud
From platform of alluring clouds.
Conquer fear and anxieties,
Whispering secrets in the breeze.

Soothed by cooing of mourning dove,
Colors of the sky melt above.
The wind listens to heartfelt pleas,
Whispering secrets in the breeze.

An angel’s vision came to me,
Whispering secrets in the breeze.

Vixen With the Telltale Heart

Vixen With the Telltale Heart

Some things are not as they appear,
Her staged moves prey upon your fears.
Her steely glance, a poison dart…
That vixen with the telltale heart.

Bar customers begin to creep
As guitar wails pull you in deep.
Priestly deception, player’s art….
That vixen with the telltale heart.

She cries a waterfall of blame,
Survival is a lonely game.
You’re just her trophy, play your part…
That vixen with the telltale heart.

Some things are not as they appear…
That vixen with the telltale heart.

Across The Miles

Across The Miles

Embraced by autumn’s amber glow,
The day dissolves to indigo.
Night sky beckons, half moon beguiles…
I feel your touch across the miles.

November brings familiar pain,
Cooled by gentle Kentucky rain.
Heartache scorches, truth and trials…
I feel your touch across the miles.

Stars fading, but I linger on,
Hope rising with the break of dawn.
Memories replace tears with smiles…
I feel your touch across the miles.

Embraced by autumn’s amber glow,
I feel your touch across the miles.

Strength In Silence

Strength In Silence

Our tears dissolve in bitter wine,
Green grapes withered on tangled vine.
Dark skies gave way to calling crow,
You slipped away to indigo.

Wispy clouds reveal hints of truth --
Soul once full of vibrance and youth.
When twilight met the fall’s first snow,
You slipped away to indigo.

Pureness your legacy imparts,
Forever branded on our hearts.
Strength in silence, your spirit glows.
You slipped away to indigo.

Our tears dissolve in bitter wine,
You slipped away to indigo.

Hebrides Moon Challenge #7
using all of my own words:

indigo, hint, snow, wispy, soul
forever, cloud, vine, truth, pure

Power of Numb3rs

Power of Numb3rs

The puzzling figures stand alone
domineering power draws me in
impulses flash in a violent zone
my thoughts awash in mortal sin.

I know that 3 and 29 are prime
they wield mysterious powers
I count and patiently bide my time
waiting, give or take, 104 hours.

These numb3rs confound me
abstract calculations astound me
vivid images in my mind haunt
…and I know just what I want.

Beneath the pale bisque moon
she sinks into a twilight sleep
the wind sings a seductive tune
igniting deviant impulses deep

But like a good stalker I hide
in the dark shadows of the night
creeping closer until I finally decide
when the time to strike is right.

These numb3rs confound me
intense craving surrounds me
like a raging, out of control fire
…and I take just what I desire.

Milky skin so pure, so young
swoop in fast and stake my claim
sweet chocolate on my tongue
a fading rose bleeding in the rain.

Stumbling in my intoxicated state
they caught me at the borderline
I stand in judgment for my fate
pondering possibilities, life to 99.

These numb3rs confound me
as heavy chains surround me
slowing down the sands of time
…and now I pay for my crime.
